The governing bodies of the Department are the President and the Assembly of the Department.

The President is elected by the faculty of the Department.

The Assembly of the Department consists of the faculty members and representatives of the undergraduate and postgraduate students at a rate of 15% of the Assembly, and one representative of each category of special staff i.e. laboratory teaching staff and technical staff.
